When cleaning jewellery with soft stones such as opals, onyx, or pearls use Connoisseurs Delicate Jewellery Cleaner or Connoisseurs Dazzle Drops Advanced and follow package directions. If the pendant doesn’t have prongs holding in the stone, it could be set with glue. In that case it’s more delicate. Wet the brush with the cleaner, don’t submerge the jewellery in the cleaner, and gently brush the jewellery and rinse off with water.

For softer gem stones and other materials, such as opals, onyx, turquoise, mother of pearl and coral we recommend using our Connoisseurs Delicate Jewellery Cleaner because of their porous nature they require a gentler formulation. Do not use ultrasonic machines on these delicate stones.

Put Your Pearls on Last!
Always put your pearls on as one of the last things you do when you’re getting ready to go out. Makeup, lotions, perfumes and hairsprays can coat your pearls and give them a dull appearance. However, the good news is: the more you wear your pearls the more the natural oils on your skin will enhance the pearls’ luster.
Never use harsh chemicals such as ammonia to clean your pearls; it will strip the nacre leaving you with a dull pearl.

The Best Way to Clean Pearls
The best way to clean pearls is to use Connoisseurs Dazzle Drops Advanced Jewellery Cleaner. This product has been specifically formulated to be safe for pearls.
First, fill the cleansing container with warm water. Squeeze in approximately 10 Dazzle Drops into the water. Dip a soft cotton cloth in the cleaner and gently rub the pearls. You can also place your pearl jewellery in the dipping scoop: just Dip for 30 seconds, and remove jewellery from the scoop. Rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Cleaning a Strand of Pearls?
Please Note: If you are dipping a strand of pearls you will need to make sure they dry completely before wearing them to ensure the silk string does not stretch. Place them on a clean, dry cloth and let them air-dry overnight.

Next, immerse the jewellery for a minute in the jar of jewellery cleaner. Use the strainer to remove the jewellery and brush it gently. Use the specialized brush to get between prongs and under the setting to remove any build-up that prevents the stone from looking its best. Rinse the jewellery under warm water and dry with a lint free cloth. Do not use an ultrasonic machine.

Tanzanite is beautiful violet-blue stone and is found only in Tanzania where it was discovered in 1967. It is one of the birth stones for the month of December.
